FSSAI Enforcement action on industrial dye 'auramine' in food products

In late November (30 Nov 2025) FSSAI issued an enforcement advisory around the use of industrial dye auramine in food items (e.g., roasted chana), signaling active crackdowns on illegal colourants and adulterants.

Relevance for Symega: Signals tougher domestic enforcement of adulteration controls- increases reputational risk if raw suppliers are not strict. Symega should tighten incoming ingredient screening for illegal dyes, update supplier declarations, and run targeted audits on spices/colour-sensitive batches.
