IFF sells its botanical ingredients, vitamins and natural colours business to SuanNutra
International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) has agreed to sell its portfolio of botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals, natural colours, antioxidants and select flavour operations in Peru to SuanNutra, a company backed by Carbyne Equity Partners. The business generated about $170 million in revenue in 2025, with roughly 600 employees and five factories across Europe, the US and Latin America moving over. IFF says the move lets it focus on its core Taste, Scent, and Health & Biosciences divisions.
Relevance for Symega: This is a large global flavour-and-ingredients player narrowing its focus, while the divested natural colours and botanical extracts business gets a dedicated new owner (SuanNutra) whose whole purpose is functional, natural ingredients. For Symega, this is worth watching in two ways: it could reshuffle competitive dynamics in natural colours and botanical extracts globally, and it may be an early example of larger players carving out specialty/natural ingredient units as standalone businesses -a trend Symega, as a natural-ingredients specialist, is well positioned relative to.

Blue Riband Gin relaunches in India with refreshed packaging
Blue Riband Gin, one of India’s older spirits brands, has re-entered the market with new packaging designed by creative agency Smith Lumen -the agency’s first India project to reach shelves. The redesign was done in partnership with Inbrew Beverages Private Limited, and is described as balancing the brand’s heritage with a look aimed at a new generation of drinkers.
Relevance for Symega:. It’s a useful data point on premiumisation trends in Indian gin, which is a category where botanical flavour development (citrus, spice, floral notes) is often outsourced to specialty flavour houses -worth keeping on the radar if Inbrew or similar spirits companies look for flavour partners down the line.
